"I was recommended to Castle Driving School by a friend, I was really nervous when I started my lessons, but I had Shirley and she made me feel calm and confident, she is a fantastic teacher and helped me pass my test first time."
Learn to Drive
Castle Driving School have been teaching the people of Colchester, Tiptree, Clacton, Sudbury and the surrounding villages to drive for over 40 years and in that time we've developed a reputation as the school that is professional yet friendly and that only has fully qualified instructors. We’re committed to not only getting you through your driving test but not also ensuring that you’re a safe, confident driver.
Driving is a lifelong skill that you never stop learning so if you find yourself struggling or nervous with our modern roads or perhaps haven’t driven for a number of years then why not have some refresher lessons with us?
Not all pupils are the same so we offer a range of driving lesson options to suit different budgets and timescales.
Take a 1 or 2-hour lesson as often as you like in either a manual or automatic car. Do remember though that if you pass your driving test in an automatic you will not be licenced to drive a manual car on the road.
3-12 day driving courses containing 5 hours driving per day with your driving test on the last day. These courses are ideal for those that want to learn to drive quickly. The length of course you need will be advised by your instructor following a 2-hour assessment.
Post Test Training
Specialised courses for qualified drivers. Just passed your driving test and want to reduce your insurance premiums? Take the government backed Pass Plus Course. We also offer motorway driving courses and training for the Advanced Driving Test.
17 or 77 any driver can benefit from refreshing their driving skills either in general or specific areas of driving. We can tailor your driving lessons to suit your particular requirements such as specific road junctions, manoeuvres (i.e. parking), motorway driving or just wanting to unlearn some bad habits.
