Colin Diaper taught me to drive and through him I passed my test. I was a nervous learner and I couldn't have asked for a better instructor. I think of Colin most days I am driving and can still hear his advice. I am so sorry he won't be teaching my son as I have always felt he did more than just teach me to drive.

After failing my driving test three times in quick succession, I completely lost my confidence for over a year. I wanted to pass my driving test before my theory test certificate ran out so I arranged an intensive course with Castle and after just over a week of intensive lessons I was finally able to pass my test with only 2 minors!

I felt that the main difference was that my entire learning time with Paul was spent driving around the main test routes in Colchester so I got a feel for how to deal with the roundabouts and tricky back roads around Colchester. I am so pleased and relieved to now have my driving licence and have very much been enjoying my new-found freedom - within two months of getting my licence I drove up to Cumbria and back alone!

I would recommend to anyone wanting to learn to drive to learn with Castle Driving school. I had Paul Turnbull as my instructor and he was excellent. He made me feel really at ease and increased my confidence in my driving ability. I had an intensive course with Castle and would recommend doing it as it really gets you in gear (excuse the pun) to drive. Paul taught me the manoeuvres and through his good teaching I picked them up straight away.

As well as Paul's teaching the Castle Driving School admin staff were also very helpful and friendly.

I did the intensive driving course with Paul for 6 days and found it so helpful as I didn't forget anything during the days as you would a normal course as it was day after day for 5 hours a day. Paul gave me the confidence to pass my test first time with only 1 minor and there wasn't anything we didnt cover in those 6 days. Intensive driving course's in my view are the best way to pass your test as soon as possible. Cheers Paul and everyone at Castle Driving school!
