If you have already passed your theory test then a one-two week intensive course is for you, all you need is the desire and commitment to concentrate your energies. Learning to drive isn't easy, but your Castle instructor will help you to feel relaxed, confident and ready to share your first days nerves. Our intensive courses are only suitable if you have passed your Theory and Hazard Perception tests.

Will it be easy?
All you need is the desire and commitment to concentrate your energies for one to two weeks. If you feel you can, then this is for you. We want you to feel relaxed and confident and are there to share your first days nerves.
Driving on a dual carriageway
How will I know how well I am doing?
After each day your Instructor will inform you of your progress and of the tasks you will be tackling on the following day.
Will I be taught all aspects of driving?
We see it as our professional duty to meet basic driving needs. Our first priority is setting safety standards. Driving at high speed, for example, on a dual carriageway (which is now a DSA requirement) is a different ball game to reversing in a suburban street. We will teach you to do both safely.
What about travel arrangements?

We can arrange to collect you and take you back home within an 8 mile radius of Colchester town centre. Beyond the 8 mile radius a fee will be charged for travel. This can be discussed with the instructor at the time of booking.

For those living further away we can meet you at North Station, Colchester or some other convenient pick up point. Some degree of flexibility may have to be accepted due to unforeseen circumstances.

Assessment Lesson

A two hour assessment is essential and has proven to be beneficial. This way our experienced fully qualified instructors can advise on the most suitable course for you.
Cost of assessment is £40.00

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH FREE TIME
Don't be rushed into taking a shorter course than you need because of work and/or family commitments. Try to arrange your time off around the driving course, not the other way around.

Courses are held in Colchester, Clacton and the surrounding areas. Test centres used for the Practical Test are Colchester and Clacton.

We provide a full service from start to finish. Just phone to have everything explained and booked for you.

Alternatively you can e-mail us with a request for a booking form to be sent to you. Once you have completed the form, send it with your deposit of £100.00 (cheques made payable to CASTLE DRIVING SCHOOL).

On receipt of your deposit we will book your practical test on our credit card system with the DSA. We will then send you a receipt and course timetable.

The balance must be paid at least 21 days before the course start date. If paying by cash, please deliver to our office by hand. We do not accept cash by post. Credit card payments will incur a 2% processing fee.
